An Active, Change-Focused Way of Working
My work is grounded in mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance-based approaches. This is not passive or purely insight-driven therapy. It is structured, intentional, and focused on helping people work directly with thoughts, urges, emotional reactions, and patterns of avoidance.
Insight matters—but lasting change comes from what you do differently.
Together, we will identify the patterns that keep you stuck, work directly with thoughts and urges, reduce avoidance and compulsive responding, and build the capacity to take values-based action. The goal is not just to feel better—but to function differently in your life.
Core Clinical Orientation
- Mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy
- Acceptance-based approaches
- Exposure-based, action-oriented work where relevant
- Evidence-based trauma treatment (CPT)
- Task-based model for compulsive behavior (Patrick Carnes)
Not Just What You Think or Feel, but How You Relate to It
Many of the challenges people face—whether anxiety, addiction, trauma, or disconnection—are shaped not only by thoughts and feelings, but by the relationship they develop to those experiences.
Our work will focus on helping you step out of automatic patterns, build awareness without judgment, develop flexibility in the face of discomfort, and reconnect with what matters most.

Therapy Goal
The aim is not simply symptom reduction in the abstract. The aim is a more flexible, values-aligned way of living—the capacity to function differently in your life.
Healing That Respects Culture and Context
My work has been shaped by experience with individuals and communities carrying intergenerational and collective trauma, including Native, Black, and Brown communities. That experience has reinforced that culture itself can be a protective factor in healing.
Therapy can be an important part of recovery, but healing may also involve community, ancestral or cultural practices, identity, spirituality, and meaning-making. Together, we can explore what healing looks like in a way that is authentic and relevant to you.
A Grounded Approach to Spirituality
Spirituality in this work is not about imposing religion or a belief system. It is understood as connection to something greater than oneself—whether that is meaning, purpose, community, awareness, nature, or contemplative practice.
My perspective is shaped by clinical work within Native communities, where healing is often understood as relational and communal with people and nature, and by personal and professional grounding in contemplative traditions influenced by Buddhism and mindfulness practice.
These perspectives support recovery through awareness, compassion, accountability, and connection.
